Meet Our Team
Our dentists are all well experienced and have worked together as a team for over ten years. We have served the community of Maybole and surrounding areas for many years and hope to do so for many more.

David has worked in Maybole Dental Practice since he graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1993. He initially worked as an associate for his father Kenneth, who owned the practice at the time. He took over as principal dentist when Kenneth retired in 2003. Over the years, David has carried out all aspects of general dentistry, but now works as practice manager, running the business. In his spare time, David enjoys running, golf, and playing the guitar.

Allison graduated from the University of Dundee in 2000. After working in Stranraer for a year she joined Maybole Dental Practice in 2001. Allison has been looking after her patients in Maybole ever since, offering them continuity of care over a number of years. Her philosophy as a dentist is to treat her patients as she would wish to be treated herself, employing a friendly and gentle approach. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and walking her dog. As the family are keen rugby fans, Allison also divides her time between rugby training and matches at Ayr Rugby Club as well as swim training and galas as both children are members of South Ayrshire Swim Team (SAST).

Gillian graduated from the University of Glasgow with Honours in 1993. After working in general practice in Glasgow she began training in the hospital sector, working towards her Fellowship in Dental Surgery which she was awarded in 1996 from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. She trained in a number of specialities in North Wales and Glasgow, before eventually specialising in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. She started working part-time in the practice in 2003 after having a career break to bring up her family. She carries out all aspects of general dentistry, and helps her husband David run the practice. Outside of work, Gillian enjoys spending time with her family, walking the dog, gardening, and has an interest in History and Genealogy.

Heather graduated with honours in 2000 from the University of Dundee and went on to gain her Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery in 2002 with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. She has worked in the maxillofacial and orthodontic department in the hospital as well as the community dental service in Ayrshire. Areas of special interest include children’s dentistry and treating anxious patients, as well as oral surgery and cosmetic dentistry. She has completed a course in C-fast smiles allowing teeth to be aligned cosmetically. In her spare time Heather is an anchor boy leader for 1st Alloway boys brigade and a first aider for Glenburn MWFC. She enjoys watching her two boys play football and rugby and being a taxi driver/fundraiser/supporter! She also enjoys reading and walking her dog.

Caroline graduated in 1998 from the University of Glasgow. She worked in general practice in Lancaster before returning to Ayrshire, working as a dental associate in Ayr. She began working in Maybole Dental Practice in 2007. She has completed courses in implant dentistry, specialising in the restorative process. She carries out this treatment in conjunction with specialists in Glasgow. She enjoys all parts of general dentistry with a particular interest in restorative dentistry and helping the anxious patient gain confidence in their smile. She has completed her C-Fast training, and with this is able to offer adult orthodontics to the practice. Outside work she enjoys sports and spending time with her husband, young daughter and their dog.

Roz initially graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in 2002 with a BA in Business and Languages, before going onto recieve her Diploma in Dental Hygiene from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2004. She started working part-time in Maybole Dental Practice in 2008. Patients are referred to Roz by the dentists, and she sees them on a private basis to help treat and prevent gum disease. In her spare time, she enjoys running, going to the gym, and spending time with her family.

Sharon began working in Maybole Dental Practice after she left school. She is the longest serving member of our team, having served the community of Maybole for over 30 years. Sharon has provided outstanding care to our patients, welcoming them with a smile and friendly attitude. She is especially helpful when it comes to putting anxious patients at ease - and has held many a hand! She has also provided David with invaluable administrative support over the years.

Gillian has a Diploma in Dental Hygiene from Glasgow Dental Hospital and over 30 years experience working in practice. She is also a member of the BMDHS (British Medical and Dental Hypnosis Society). Her aim is to alleviate patients' fears and anxieties by using a soft calm approach and is especially good at working with nervous and anxious patients. In her spare time she reupholsters, walks her dogs and plays netball.
