Your dentists can carry out routine scaling and polishing on your teeth, however, patients that are experiencing more advanced gum disease have the option of seeing one of our hygienists.
They provide specialist advice and treatment on caring for your gums and how to maintain proper oral hygiene. As well as routine maintenance, treatment may also include deep (subgingival) scaling, which can be carried out under local anaesthetic if necessary.
We recommend any patient with implants or extensive crowns and bridges to see the hygienist on a regular basis.
The hygienist will demonstrate tools you can use to maintain your oral health, and a full range of oral hygiene products is also available in the practice to purchase.
