The practice also offers certain aspects of cosmetic dentistry, such as:
The NHS provides silver (amalgam) fillings on your back teeth, however white fillings are available privately for these. If this is something you would be interested in please ask your dentist.
Crowns, Bridges and Veneers
If a lot of a tooth is missing then a crown (also known as a cap) might be suitable to protect what is left or improve the appearance. This involves cutting down a portion of the tooth to allow for a mould to be taken. For front teeth, the NHS provides white crowns, however on back teeth crowns are made of metal. If you are interested in a white crown on your back teeth this can be done privately.
A bridge is used to replace one or two missing teeth and usually consists of a crown on either side of the gap with the artificial tooth in the middle. A bridge is fixed to your mouth and not removable which suits some who dislike dentures. In some cases a sticky or adhesive bridge is suitable, where the artificial tooth is bonded to the tooth next to it.
A veneer is a thin piece of porcelain which fits over the front of your teeth. This is less damaging than a crown but is only suitable in certain cases.

Tooth straightening (orthodontics)
We happily refer patients who require teeth straightening to a suitable orthodontist.
Caroline has completed training in the restoration of dental implants. Dental implants are metal screws that are surgically placed in the jaw bone. A crown, bridge, or denture is then made to go on the implant. We would refer you to another practice for the surgical procedure and then Caroline would carry out the restoration. If you are interested in this treatment please speak to one of our dentists for more information.
